I couldn’t be more excited to be writing this first post on the Citizen Farmers blog. As I type, I’m inspired as I anticipate all the amazing things we are going to accomplish together for the good of our State and our country. Thank you for joining! We hope to use this blog to keep you updated on new information and opportunities as they are added to our web portal, and will share anecdotes from our travels around Illinois and beyond. My goal is to share updates every week about things such as:

1. People – you’ll read stories about individuals doing inspirational work.2. Projects – you’ll be informed about emerging initiatives that are showing promise.3. Possibilities – you’ll get creative ideas that could spark innovation.

As a member, you have some work to do too

Now that you’re inside the portal, please explore the site to familiarize yourself with its contents and features, which include a calendar of events, Issues Library, and membership referral tools.

Also, please take time to upload your photo and add your bio and contact information to your personal profile page. Your photo and information will help you get established in the community and will enable other Citizen Farmers to reach you (and vice versa) as needed.

Finally, please complete our new member survey if you haven’t done so already. The information you share in this confidential survey is extremely useful to the Citizen Farmers staff. We will use it to develop and hone programming that is tailored to the interests and needs of the membership.

Remember, our first major, in-person event is coming up on October 7. This will be our inaugural founders retreat, “The Harvest”. It is an invitation only, RSVP required event.More details coming soon
